How to apply Graham-Field Lumex Full-Body Mesh Commode Sling?

1. Check the patient's weight and the sling's maximum weight capacity. Ensure that the patient's weight does not exceed the sling's maximum weight capacity.
2. See the Sling Loop Options table at right to determine the appropriate position.
3. See Figure 1 for correct positioning of sling on spreader bar
4. Position the patient lift sling under and behind the patient's back with the color adjustment strap on outside.Drape A and B over the shoulders as shown inFigure2.
5. Carefully, with help from another caregiver, if needed, pull the sling portion C and D forward to the bend of the knee as shown in Figure 2.
6. Hook sling loops A and B to spreader bar a and b as shown in Figure3.
7. Hook sling loops C and D to spreader bar c and d as shown in Figure3.
8. Do not lock caster brakes, in order to allow the lift to properly balance weight.
9. Proceed with lift and transfer as shown in Figure4.

How to care for Lumex Full Body Commode Sling?

• To clean the sling, use a mild soap and water solution and a clean cloth
• Rinse with clearwater, then allow to air dry
• Note - Do not use bleach, solvents, abrasive cleaners, or scouring pads on any part of the sling.

Precautions-

• Carefully inspect the sling before each use for wear and damage to seams,  fabric, straps, and strap loops.Torn, cut, frayed or broken slings can fail, resulting in serious personal injury to the user. Use only slings that are in good condition. Discard and destroy old, unusable slings.
