Tidi Posey Release Hugger Instructions for Use

Direction

• Position the patient in a wheelchair or chair
• Hold the Hugger horizontally. It can be oriented either with the straps facing forwards or toward the patient, depending on the individual’s ability to remove the Hugger
• Place the Hugger flat across the patient’s lap and release the Hook and Loop attachment straps
• If necessary, compress each side of the Hugger, squeezing it between the armrests until the Hugger lies flat on the patient’s lap
• Adjust the position of the Hugger so that it is snug yet comfortable and non-restrictive for the patient
• Attach the Hook and Loop strap around the wheelchair arm frame to secure the Hugger in place
• To remove the EZ Release Hugger or Self-Releasing Hugger, pull on the easy-to-grasp loop straps to release the Hook and Loop You can also release the Self-Releasing Hugger by simply having the patient stand up

Indications for Use

• Patients who have poor upper torso alignment and need a firm surface to rest their elbows on
• Patients who require an anterior posture support
• Patients who require a work area or eating area on their wheelchair or similar non-wheelchair applications
• Products considered “self-release” or “assisted-release” must be specified by the ordering physician
