How to wash Bard FLIP-FLO Valve?

1. Wash your hands properly.
2. Now fasten the flip-flo valve to the catheter making sure that the catheter end of the valve connector is not touched.
3. To ensure the utmost safety, wash your hands before and after operating the flip-flo valve.
4. Empty your bladder as many times as prescribed by your physician.
5. Open the valve by pushing the lever downside.
6. Let the urine drain into the toilet.
7. Close the valve by pulling the lever upwards.
8. You may attach a night drainage bag to the connector for continuous drainage throughout the night. It is important to note that the valve should be in the open position at night.
9. Change the flip-flo valve every 5-7 days. To discard it, you need to disconnect it from the catheter and attach a new valve.
